NEW PRODUCT RELEASE - KC-401 RELAY CONTROLLER

Innovation is the key for success and Gentec makes no exception to it.

With the release of the KC-401 Relay Controller, Gentec makes its K4 Series more efficient than ever regarding lighting control and energy savings.

The user friendly KC-401 Relay Controller allows electricians, contractors and maintenance personnel to easily program and set-up directly in the field, a full K4 system installation. True feed back of the complete system status is provided through different LED patterns.

The K4 Series with the KC-401 Controller is ideally suited for small to medium size projects such as schools, mid-size stores and warehouses.

Each KC-401 can control up to 16 relays and offers the capability to configure up to four groups of one to several relays. Two controllers can even be networked to control up to 32 relays and 8 groups in total. This leaves plenty of space for the expansion of your client's system.

As an Energy Code Certified equipment, the KC-401 offers the following programming options:

Group Configurations
Schedule Assignments
Time-On Extension
Warning (Flick)
On/Off
On Only &Off Only

PROJECTS INFO

Gentec has recently been appointed to up-grade the entire low-voltage lighting control system (LCS) in the tallest building in Montreal: Le 1000 (picture). Built in the late 80's as one of the most luxurious office building in the city, Le 1000 quickly became a landmark in Montreal.

The original LCS, installed at Le 1000, was based on the Arcnet Technoly (co-axe cable). In order to keep up with technology improvements the building owner decided to retrofit their LCS with the new Kameleon K8 Series from Gentec.

With the K8 Series, the engineering and service staff of the building can program, monitor and modify any part of the network by accessing the Kameleon operation software from any computer inside their control/security rooms and service desks. Furthermore, because the K8 Series is developed around the Echelon™ Technology, they have access to a fully interoperable system that can easily be integrated with the HVAC, security and fire systems of the building.

The Kameleon system installed in Le 1000 represents more than 2050 relays distributed in 62 panels all networked together through the use of a twisted pair wire.

For more information on this project and other K8 application please contact M. Denis Bonneville, Kameleon Product Manager at 888-235-7506 or 418-651-8000.
